Admissions Reader, (401376735)

The Admissions Reader  is a part-time seasonal position participating in a team effort to evaluate and select students for the Fuqua School of Business Programs. The Reader reports to the Admissions Assistant Dean, Operations. This is a seasonal position working an abbreviated schedule from September through Mid-May. Hours are flexible. The Admissions Reader is a member of the admissions committee, and is required to sign a confidentiality agreement in accordance with Duke University Policy. At the discretion and invitation of the Director, a contract Admissions Reader may be invited to renew the contract for the next admission cycle. Duties include reading and evaluating qualifications of prospective students utilizing established standards and guidelines; submitting evaluations for review by the Admissions Committee; attending regular Admissions Committee meetings; participating in giving feedback on Admissions Committee decisions and assisting with file completion processes prior to each round of admissions. Staff Assistant, Level 7, (401370464)

The Admissions Office Staff Assistant greets office visitors, answers phone and email information requests, and provides administrative support to The Office of Admissions. Working in an administrative team environment, the Staff Assistant reports to the Office Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited: answering main ACD telephone line; answering or routing general email inquiries; retrieving, opening, sorting and distributing the incoming mail; entering prospect data into databases; ensuring all new mail inquiries are logged; fulfillment of outgoing mail, including inquiry packets and FedEx shipments; maintaining office inventory: supplies, kitchen supplies, publications, gifts for alumni and prospective students, info session materials; maintaining staff information; taking and distributing notes at staff meetings; reserving conference room spaces; and assisting with campus visits and information session preparation. Candidates must be comfortable working in highly computerized environment including experience working with databases, spreadsheets, word processing, web-based applications and email. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.  Strong communication skills required. Customer-focused manner is vital to this position.  Admissions experience is a plus. Academic Assistant, Level 08, (401380048)

Department: Faculty Support

Faculty Support. The Academic Assistant provides administrative support of a complex and confidential nature for a group of faculty members with their teaching and research activities. Fuqua faculty members travel frequently for global programs, conduct research, host research seminars, and train and mentor PhD students. This position reports to the Faculty Personnel Director. The Academic Assistant should be comfortable working both independently and as an integral part of a team in a fast paced environment. Undergraduate degree along with three years of related administrative experience is strongly preferred. Successful candidates will be comfortable working in a highly computerized environment including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, internet research and database management. Working knowledge of SAP preferred for this position. Proficiency in business communication, both written and oral along with high level writing and editing skills are required. Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail and follow-through are essential to success in this position. Staff Assistant, Level 08, (401374538)

Department: Health Sector Management (HSM)

The HSM Staff Assistant is integral to the daily operation of the HSM programs including, but not limited to, the Daytime, Executive MBA and the Health Sector Advisory Committee and directly supports the Director of the HSM program. S/he also provides support as needed to the Associate Dean for HSM and the HSM Faculty Directors. The Staff Assistant is responsible for managing multiple, time-sensitive tasks simultaneously. Additionally, s/he works closely with the entire HSM team and various Duke and non-Duke partners. The Staff Assistant must have strong communication skills and a professional demeanor, as s/he will often be the first point of contact for prospective students, alumni, corporate sponsors, and other visitors. A thorough understanding of the Duke University accounting system is preferred along with proficiency with SAP R/3, Duke accounting protocols and familiarity with Duke@Work portal. Ability to forecast and analyze financial reports as demonstrated through related work experience. Additionally, applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel plus be comfortable with leaning, using and exploring new technologies. This position requires strong organizational, communication and analytical skills. Must be able to successfully manage and coordinate multiple events. High customer service focus required. Must be able to work within a dynamic, fast-paced team environment and be detail-oriented with ability to work independently. Four or more years of directly related work experience preferred. Operations and Events Specialist, (Level 09), (401366152)

Department: Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE)

The Operations and Events Specialist will be responsible for providing executive support, office management, and events coordination. The role will include typical administrative and basic financial management duties as well as managing events planning and logistics. The Staff Assistant will regularly be required to resolve diverse and advanced administrative problems independently, to manage complex logistics for a variety of stakeholders, and to complete assigned projects effectively. The Staff Assistant will work closely with all CASE personnel and will report to the CASE Executive Director. College degree or at least 3 years of relevant experience preferred. Preference given to candidates who have worked in administration in a university setting. This positions requires a self-starter and willingness to take initiative and see projects through to completion independently. Strong written and oral communication skills, and customer-service mindset needed. Applicants must demonstrate ability to set priorities, organize and manage multiple planning tasks simultaneously, rigorous attention to detail, and consistent follow-through. Utmost professionalism, positive attitude and ability to interact effectively with a range of constituents is required. Admissions Counselor, Level 10, (401368961)

The Admissions Counselor provides administrative support, project management and coordination of admissions functions related primarily to the Daytime program. This position works closely with admissions officers to support their efforts in executing on marketing and outreach strategies, counseling prospects/applicants, responding to inquiries, and assisting with and supporting our campus visit program.  S/he also coordinates across the entire Admissions team to provide support as needed. The Admissions Counselor reports to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions. Undergraduate degree is required. Admissions, counseling, or corporate recruiting experience is highly desirable. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be very comfortable in a highly computerized environment, including database management, electronic bulletin boards and e-mail. Additionally, this position requires familiarity with Webex, Zoom or other virtual conferencing systems as well as proficiency in Powerpoint, Excel, and Word. Social media experience is a plus. Assistant Director MQM--Online Programs, Level 11, (401385213)

The Assistant Director of Master of Quantitative Management (MQM)--Online Programs is responsible for a broad range of activities that support operations of the online MQM program and student experiences throughout the program.  The Assistant Director is expected to supervise all aspects of program delivery in support of teaching faculty and students, from the time of students’ admission into the program through their graduation. This position requires outstanding organizational and project management skills, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, sensitivity to counseling issues, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Because this is an online education program, the ability to work with a distributed student body, communicating with the students electronically, anticipating and proactively planning for their requirements, and making independent judgments in situations with ambiguous situations are important. Moreover, the Assistant Director needs a demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and communicate well with students, faculty, Fuqua administrators, Duke University offices, and outside vendors. This is a full time position reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Digital Education. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree desired. At least three years of experience working in a professional setting with experience in planning and executing initiatives is desired.  Experience with online/distributed work environment in a business or higher education setting will be highly valued. The successful candidate will be a person with a high level of maturity, confidence, and strong organizational skills. The ability to handle multiple priorities in an independent manner is a must. Assistant Director, Communications, Level 11, (401366379)

The Assistant Director of Admissions Communications is responsible for executing communications initiatives within the Admissions Department. This position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions, and under the strategic direction of the Assistant Dean, to create communications that drive more applications and yield higher quality prospective students across all of Fuqua’s degreed programs. S/he manages projects related to sourcing leads, conducts email marketing campaigns, supports social media strategies, and serves as the primary point of contact between Admissions and the Marketing Department. S/he will stay abreast of the global trends, practices, and direction of the graduate business school environment and assist in the translation of key developments to Fuqua’s culture. This person has shared responsibility for managing the Customer Relationship Management database (Slate) and associated processes such as tracking marketing and event data, and managing content websites that serve the prospective student population. S/he assists in the management of software packages for online chats, web conferencing and social networks, as it relates to the prospective and applicant pool. S/he reviews applications for admission, meets with prospective students and visitors to campus, and responds to requests for information as needed. Bachelor degree require with a minimum of 3 years work experience. We are seeking applicants with strong copywriting and editorial skills; prior marketing and/or communications experience; design experience in digital, print and other media as well as experience designing for social media. Applicants must demonstrate comfort with marketing of html code or working within a content management system. At a minimum, candidate should have ability to create and edit in email editing tools. Associate Director of Data Analytics, Level 12, (401366399)

The Associate Director of Data Analytics leads the development and management of Data Analysis and Reporting across all programs within Admissions. Works closely with the Associate Dean, Assistant Deans and Sr. Associate Director of Systems and Operations to analyze and provide in-depth analysis to facilitate the development and evaluation of admissions operations, recruitment and admissions. The position manages two data reporting managers and reports into the Assistant Dean of Admissions for Daytime/Domestic Strategy, Operations, Analytics and Communications. Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA or Master’s Equivalent in a STEM field preferred. A minimum of 3 years of work experience in business/data analysis, information technology, or operations management is required. Admissions/Enrollment or Higher Ed experience highly valued. Deep experience with database management preferred. Experience using PeopleSoft, ImageNow, ApplyYourself, SLATE or a similar CRM tool preferred. Extensive experience querying and analyzing data using statistical software packages, Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, SAS, SPSS, STATS or Access. Strong project management, written communication, interpersonal and team skills are essential. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, to ask the right questions to conduct analysis and require little supervision and oversight.
