The Admissions Reader is a part-time seasonal position participating in a team effort to evaluate and select students for the Fuqua School of Business Programs. The Reader reports to the Associate Director of Admissions. This is a seasonal position working an abbreviated schedule from September through Mid-May. Hours are flexible. A change in university policy means that we will no longer employ Duke staff who are working outside of North Carolina and are paid on an hourly basis. The Admissions Reader is a member of the admissions committee, and is required to sign a confidentiality agreement in accordance with Duke University Policy. At the discretion and invitation of the Dean, a contract Admissions Reader may be invited to renew the contract for the next admission cycle. Duties include reading and evaluating qualifications of prospective students utilizing established standards and guidelines; submitting evaluations for review by the Admissions Committee; attending regular Admissions Committee meetings; participating in giving feedback on Admissions Committee decisions and assisting with file completion processes prior to each round of admissions. The Career Management Center (CMC) is seeking to fill the Resume Reviewer position. The CMC produces multiple resume books and databases each year to market Fuqua’s job-seeking students and alumni to a variety of prospective employers. To ensure that students represent themselves and the Fuqua brand in a positive and professional manner, the resume reviewer will participate as a member of a small team to review and correct resumes submitted for these products. Minor errors will be corrected on behalf of the student or alumnus, and more significant concerns will be addressed in collaboration with the individual. Correspondence with the student or alumnus will usually be conducted by phone or email. Resume reviewers will receive training from CMC staff on format requirements and general guidelines, and will also be available for consultation or questions. This is a seasonal position paid an hourly rate and working an abbreviated schedule from August through May. Hours are flexible. While training will be conducted in person, the resume review work can be conducted remotely. Bachelors’ degree required, advanced degree is preferred. Prior career services, recruiting, or industry experience preferred. This position requires strong writing and editing skills. Candidates must demonstrate excellent attention to detail. The Receptionist/ Information Desk Coordinator serves as a key link for the students, employers, and university visitors to The Fuqua School of Business. The position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment; is able to multitask; has strong communication skills; and understands and delivers high quality customer service. This person reports to the Operations Manager and is part of the Recruiting Operations Team. The Information Desk Coordinator is the first point of contact with diverse internal and external customers. This position is responsible for screening/referral of incoming phone calls and providing information. It is critical that the Information Desk Coordinator be well informed about events throughout Fuqua. This position is responsible for providing prompt, accurate information via phone, fax, email, or in person. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to perform the role with consistent attention to detail.  Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities in a positive, organized and confident manner needed.  Use of discretion, strong work ethic and ability to exercise reasoned judgment is critical in this position. Recruiting Coordinator, Level 8, (401449475)

The Recruiting Coordinator performs duties associated with the planning, logistics, and implementation of Fuqua’s recruiting events and interviews. Annually, Fuqua facilitates approximately 300 on-campus interview schedules and more than 200 recruiting events of various scopes, from individual company presentations that take place on Fuqua’s campus to multi-employer joint school career fairs at off-site locations, all of which enable a variety of employers to recruit across Fuqua’s graduate business programs. This position is an integral part of Fuqua’s Career Management Center (CMC) and reports directly to the Recruiting Manager. The coordinator will also interact daily with the entire CMC staff.  Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3 years of professional work experience, preferably in career services, recruiting, or event planning and management. The successful candidate will be a self-starter willing to take initiative, seek guidance when needed, and see projects through to completion with little guidance and oversight. Excellent organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail and follow-through are required for this position. Must be able to perform multiple tasks including prioritizing activities according to importance and urgency, often requiring flexibility to adapt to changes driven by either staff or student needs. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in business communication. Applicants must have the capacity to understand the MBA and entry-level business job market and hiring industries. Must be very comfortable learning and using technology tools including database management, Internet research, Excel, e-mail, Microsoft office suite as well as other tools. FCCP is a project based course in which a team of students address a business challenge on behalf of an external client. Clients range in size from large multi-national companies to high growth ventures, often in tech and healthcare to leverage the strengths of the entrepreneurial community in the Triangle. The Assistant Director for Experiential Learning is expected to participate in a team effort to plan and execute on Fuqua’s experiential learning offerings related to the Fuqua Client Consulting Practicum (FCCP) and the Mentored Study Program (MSP).  The Assistant Director is responsible for managing multiple cohorts of Fuqua students delivering consulting services to companies/clients both locally and worldwide.  This position reports to the Managing Director, Experiential Learning. The Assistant Director is the main point of contact for all Masters of Management Studies (MMS) Program FCCP related activities and initiatives, and is responsible for providing operational oversight for the MMS FCCP program.  Likewise, this position also serves as a main point of contact for all Executive MBA (EMBA) FCCP related activities and initiatives. This role requires proactive communication and significant collaboration within the Experiential Learning team and across student groups and populations; a variety of Fuqua departments; other areas of the Duke community; and external clients and alumni. Graduate degree in higher education, business administration, or related field preferred. Sector Director for Marketing & Media/Entertainment/Sports, Level 13, (401431598)

The Sector Director for Marketing & Media/Entertainment/Sports is a senior staff position in the Fuqua Career Management Center and reports to the Daytime Director for Career Management. The incumbent works closely with a variety of constituents – students, employers, alumni, faculty, staff and others– to envision, build, and strengthen career support broadly within the Fuqua student population, and specifically within the Marketing & Media/Entertainment/Sports (MES) sectors. The incumbent serves as the primary owner and strategist towards dual objectives of Student Support and Employer Relationship Development. To capitalize on the full value of the incumbent’s activities, the role requires proactive communication and significant collaboration within the entire CMC team and across student groups and populations; a variety of Fuqua departments; other areas of the Duke community; and corporate recruiters and alumni. Graduate degree strongly preferred, especially an MBA, Master of Counseling, or other relevant discipline. A minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in Marketing or recruiting/HR.  Extensive interaction with alumni, students and corporate recruiters is integral to the position, so a strong portfolio of communication skills, including presentation and advocacy, are essential. Fuqua’s Director of Business Development, Executive Education, is responsible for recruiting management and executive level professionals to attend our open-enrollment programs and for leading the development of tailored and innovative new programs to expand our portfolio of offerings. The candidate will be responsible for building a stronger image and brand, growing program revenue streams and contributing to Fuqua’s overall success. The Durham-based director will plan and manage business and program development.  This position requires approximately 40% travel, in the US.  This position will focus on non-degree Executive Education while representing all programs for Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.  The Director will report to the Executive Director of Executive Education and will work closely with Marketing, Development and Alumni Relations, Health Sector Management, Corporate Relations and the Dean’s Office to ensure strategic coordination of all efforts.  MBA or advanced degree is strongly desired. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and business development, preferably in industry or another top business school.  Candidates must be able to operate with conviction and credibility. Demonstrated maturity, resilience and a level-headed mindset is essential to this position. Candidates must have an entrepreneurial nature along with the drive and passion to achieve revenue and enrollment goals. Additionally, candidates must possess excellent management skills to function at an executive level with initiative, appropriate level of accountability, ability to think out of the box and excellent problem-solving ability.
