Bio

Kevin D. Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Accounting Area. His research interests include information disclosure, corporate governance, and corporate bankruptcy & restructuring. His dissertation studies the role of information disclosure in corporate bankruptcy, and it provides some of the first evidence on how the quality of disclosures made by firms and their creditors affects bankruptcy outcomes. His research in corporate governance has examined issues including board composition, shareholder voting, board committees, and executive compensation. Kevin obtained his BA in Economics and Mathematics (summa cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017 and his PhD in Accounting from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2022.
