Javed Tapia

Javed Tapia is an entrepreneur leading the Clover Group of companies. He has established a strong presence for the Clover Group in areas such as information technology (Clover Infotech Pvt. Ltd.), digital payments and fintech (Sienna Resources Pvt. Ltd. with its flagship product Slonkit and Moneykit), renewable energy (Clover Solar Pvt. Ltd.), and real estate (Clover Realty and Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd.).

Javed spearheaded the open source revolution in India in 2000 through a joint venture—Red Hat India with Red Hat Inc.—and expanded the company’s footprint across South Asia. He received his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in 1991. He was conferred with the “Alumni Impact Award” by Duke University in 2006.

He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Bombay Chapter and has served on the Executive Committee as Chapter Chair, Education Chair, and Membership Chair. He is also a former member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) and has served on its executive committee across all functions.

Javed is an angel investor with a keen interest in the internet, technology, and agri-business space. He was an initial member of Mumbai Angels, one of the leading angel investment groups in India. He is an avid reader and enjoys horseback riding and scuba diving in his free time.

He is married to Neelam and has two children, Alya and Anisa, both of whom are pursuing their undergraduate degrees at Duke.
