Reflections
I consider myself to be a life-long learner. I started my pursuit into the professional arena with a solid education in engineering. I quickly learned that being an engineer is fantastic, but limited if you don’t understand the business applications. I soon realized that data management, analysis, and decision-making is truly what separates a good business from a great one. After many months of searching for a program that would help me learn how to read, dissect, analyze, interpret, and apply data management I found the MSQM: Accelerated Business Analytics at Duke University.
Before Fuqua
I developed sales and marketing skills and expanded my network to identify small to mid-size businesses I could assist with my consulting services. I analyzed markets and provided direct company insights into their operations and sales execution as I sought a solution that best met that customer’s need.
After Fuqua
My main plans are to continue to grow my company to new and exciting heights by leveraging my recently-acquired skills in trend and data management. My main intent is to take each company’s industry portfolio and help to determine innovative and effective drivers to leverage for growth.
Advice to Prospective Students
The best piece of advice I can offer anyone looking to enroll in the Accelerated MSQM program is to make sure that you are truly ready for the intense process. You will be meeting some of the most intelligent and good-hearted people you will ever meet in your life. Teamwork is of paramount importance in this program—you will rely on each other, and they will rely on you to balance each other out. It will help shape who you are as a person.
