“Fuqua has instilled confidence in me that was definitely missing before. My classmates are some of the smartest people I have ever met, and they challenge me every day. Fuqua has given me the business acumen and communication skills to not only contribute to the intelligent conversations going on around me, but also lead them with confidence.”

Why I Chose Fuqua

As a former student athlete, Fuqua’s emphasis on teamwork stood out to me.  I fully understood the power of a team, and I was excited to see how that would translate in an academic setting. I was also looking for an experience where I would constantly interact with diverse people, because I am always looking for ways to challenge my perspectives and ways of thinking.

Before Fuqua

Throughout my undergrad years, I managed the University of Florida gymnastics team. This experience lit a fire under me, because I was able to merge my two passions, sports and business.  However, I knew there was so much more to learn, and that is ultimately what led me to pursue an MMS degree.

After Fuqua

I will be working as an associate consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory in Dallas, Texas. I hope to be a part of their deals practice and be involved in mergers and acquisitions both pre-bid and post-integration.

5 Random Facts About Me

  1. I have broken 18 bones.
  2. I have an irrational fear of frogs. I am absolutely terrified of them all, big or small.
  3. I was a member of the University of Florida gymnastics team and was lucky enough to be a part of both an SEC Championship team and an NCAA Championship team.
  4. I am a part of the first-ever Fuqua Sports Business Cohort, a group of MBA, MMS, and MQM students who all have a passion for sports and hope to merge this passion with our future business careers. This experience has given me the chance to engage monthly with employees from Wasserman, a full-service sports agency, who have generously dedicated time each month to come to our cohort’s meetings. It has been an amazing opportunity to engage in conversation with them and my cohort members about topics we are all extremely passionate about.
  5. I’ve seen more snow here in Durham than I have in my whole life combined!  I had my first snow day here, and all of MMS had a blast building snowmen and having snowball fights in front of Duke Chapel.
