Reflections

I chose to pursue the Master of Science in Quantitative Management: Business Analytics degree at Fuqua because of its analysis-centered, case, and debate-based approach. These approaches taught me how to think practically and critically in a team-learning environment. Additionally, this degree instilled in me conceptual instruments and practical methodologies about how data and strategy can work as one, and can produce value when strategically incorporated into a company. I wanted to learn more quantitative skills to produce better results in the work I do at Microsoft, and, at Fuqua, I was able to understand the connection of how insightful data will provide the means and approach to make better decisions.

Before Fuqua

I worked at Microsoft as a Commercial Markets Strategy Manager on the Latin American team. My responsibilities included researching market conditions, creating a market research strategy, analyzing deals status in Latin America, and gathering and distributing information and data on competitors’ prices, sales, and methods of marketing and distribution.

After Fuqua

To focus more on data, I became the Channel GTM Lead for Data & AI at Microsoft Latin America. My role is to be the voice of the business and lead the channel’s Go-To-Market strategy for Data & Artificial Intelligence, including knowing our partners’ capacities versus what they will need to address market needs, and determining how we can grow our current partner ecosystem.

The Benefits of an Online Degree

  1. Flexibility. As a working professional I appreciate how we were able to learn and work on our own schedule.
  2. Developing new skills. While working toward your online degree, you also need to develop new skills like maintaining your self-motivation, task management, work-life balance, and more!
  3. Global reach. Doing your degree online lets you meet people from many countries, from your desk at home. I had the opportunity to network with people from around the globe which broadened my perspective on the world.
